To ensure your strap lasts for years, please do not overheat, wet or apply too much oil to the glued seams. Water will not damage leather, but heat and desiccation will. We recommend applying a small amount of oil/wax/conditioner to the grain side (the smooth side not touching the skin) every year to prevent the leather drying. The leather grain provides the strength to the strap.
